Have We Become Overly Sensitive?

Have you noticed that people do not take jokes anymore? We all read meanings into everything, jokes and all, that we seem to tip-toe around one another, being very careful of what to say or not to say in order not to hurt feelings. We end up sugar-coating everything, not saying the truth so people don't get offended and probably not like us anymore. Who that one epp?

Before you say you're not being overly sensitive to issues and what people say, ask yourself the following questions: do you react badly to criticism? Does it take you longer to make decisions because you're concerned about people's reaction/response to your decisions? Do you see the negative in every comment or opinion? Are you one of those who gets overly emotional when you hear something you don't like about yourself? Well, take a chill pill. It is not that serious.

Nowadays, even comedians cannot crack jokes without a set of people in the society feeling offended. You make a seemingly funny post on social media, and children of anger will attack you for being insensitive. You call someone slim, no big deal, then call someone fat, then you're being mean (as if the opposite of slim is not fat). You can't even say 'a short guy/girl' without someone accusing you of body-shaming, even when you didn't say it in a derogatory manner.

I don't know what happened to our sense of humour; and although I understand that we must not all see the humour in everything and in the same way, however, we should really try not to see the negative in everything people say or do to us. Life will be better that way. Learn to take a joke, you'll live longer and have less wrinkles. See those people doing 'baby boy for life' and 'baby girl for life'?, they get to look young and feel young because they know how to avoid stress, which lack of sense of humour brings about. My funny must not be your funny, but do not be a party-pooper always. Like I said, life is not that serious, and you shouldn't take it too seriously. Laugh at yourself, yes, it is perfectly healthy; that way, when people laugh at you, it won't be a big deal.

Enjoy your day dearies... remember to smile.
Peace...
