My Take on Bbnaija

So guys, Big Brother naija has come and gone; big congratulations to Efe and Bisola. I was a huge fan of the show and voted till the end. That being said, I promise not to bother you with the show after today.

While some calculated the amount of money Payporte (the major sponsor) and the organisers made, I had other things on my mind.

Firstly, I was glad that some people were proven wrong. From the beginning of the show, some people had automatically assumed that the 'Nigerian factor' would come into play, and that the winner had already been chosen. I tried to convince a lot of people that the conspiracy theory they were spinning couldn't apply as so much was at stake. In my opinion, Mnet wouldn't want to be embroiled in that kinda scandal, the auditing firm being used also has their reputation to protect, and Nigerians were watching with eagle-eyes for any sign of foul play. Hahahaha... it was fun to watch how everything played out, week after week, until last night.

Secondly, Nigerians united for a common cause. It was not about tribe or religion for us, it was about whom we all agreed was deserving of the money. I sincerely wish we'd replicate this attitude when it comes to matters of national importance. I keep saying that we stand to achieve more when we are united, and the evil powers that wouldn't let this country be great know this fact. That is why they always seek for ways to sow seeds of discord and stoke embers of fire among us, knowing that a united Nigeria will pose a big threat to them. The driving force were the youths, we championed the votes and the outcome was massive. Even the people that didn't want to hear about the show had no choice but to hear and know about it because it was all over the place. why can't we do this with our beloved country? That is even the one we'd all benefit from, unlike the show where the winner takes all and we go back to our lives, the broke people will still be broke, and the jobless are still jobless, lol.

Thirdly, the power of social media was once again proven to be very potent. See, whether we like it or not, it has come to stay and the earlier we identify positively with the force that is social media, the better for us. Also, if Nigerians kill you on social media, you might as well be dead. We are that chill-less, hahahaha... Our meanness online is unparallelled. The battle for the winner was fought on social media before we even got to the votes.

Well, now we go back to talking about the Nigerian government and their shenanigans. The distraction is over, back to reality. Someone said that our complaints will make our dear President to develop ear issues again, lol. Told you we were mean!

Have a great week everyone.

Peace...
