The Hypocrisy of It All

bom Dia,

So I've decided to add Portuguese to the languages I wish to learn, just in case I meet Cristiano Ronaldo someday and we need to converse, you know? *wink wink.  Anyway, how was your weekend? Hope good.

I was quietly surfing the internet as usual o, busy on Social Media when I noticed that cucumber was trending. Ha! I know cucumber is healthy and all, but I didn't think that was enough reason why it should be trending. I found out a video of certain Miss Anambra masturbating with a cucumber and indulging in lesbian sex with another girl was leaked online by someone. Hmmmm.... Trust Nigerians, we have been having a field day with the story. I have not watched the video, and I don't intend to ever; not because I don't watch porn, but because I believe someone's privacy has been grossly violated and downloading, watching and sharing such a video encourages the people that leak such videos to continue doing that.

Now, I'm not condoning such act, but the way and manner people have been going on and on about it, you'd think we were all saints. You see, people judge people who sin differently than them; a man that is a pathological liar would judge another man for committing adultery and vice versa. That's how it is. The same Nigerians that google Kim Kadarshian's sex tape are the ones condemning this girl. Funny enough, most people are not even  condemning whoever that leaked the video, rather they focus more on shaming the victim. I know people who take nudes and send to their partners, or even strangers with the hope of getting them interested in sexual relationships; but as long as it's not in the public domain, it's not a sin, right?

Nigeria is among the top countries in Africa that search for gay porn on the internet, yet we have a law that prohibits homosexual practices. It makes me wonder if it's ghosts that search for the porn online. If only there'd be cameras to see what people do in their bedrooms, some of us would be shocked to know that the well-dressed men and women we see indulge in all manner of sexual fetishes behind closed doors. The only consolation they have is that no one has leaked their videos yet. A friend of mine told me of how a guy recorded them having sex, without her knowledge or consent. She somehow stumbled on it on the guy's laptop and forced him to delete it. The guy's excuse was that it gives him pleasure to watch himself having sex, crazy if you ask me, but hey, whatever tickles his fancy.

What I'm saying is that we are always quick to act jury, prosecutor and Judge in issues about other people's personal lives. If she has broken any law, let the authorities arrest and prosecute her. To the people that'd search for the video, watch and then criticise her: why did you watch it? Is it your private part? Is it because that nude picture you sent to le boo didn't make its way to the Internet? How has her action affected you negatively? Why are you not calling out whoever leaked that video?

Although she has released a statement that the video was photoshopped, I know most of us do not believe that. Anyway, knowing Nigeria, something will happen today and her gist will become old news. She should just hang in there.

Have a great week everyone.

Hugs...
